Open Category permits, common to all Member States of the European regulation

Current drones without a new CE marking can have access to Open Categories, thanks to the Limited Open Categories valid in the 2020-2022 period. Consequently, today's drones must not weigh more than 500 grams to be able to fly in category A1C1, while to fly in A2 they must not exceed 2 kilos and must keep at least 50 meters away from uninvolved people. Drones weighing up to 25 kilos will be able to fly in category A3, remaining at least 150 meters from residential, industrial and recreational areas, and in the absolute absence of uninformed people.
